Zum Inhalt des Films:
James Brown, besser bekannt als „Mr. Sex Machine“, gehörte zu den einflussreichsten Musikern des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts. Bis zu seinem Tode Ende letzten Jahres durch eine verschleppte Lungenentzündung begeisterte er über 50 Jahre mit seiner Musik die Massen und schuf eine Reihe von Hits für die Ewigkeit. Der als „Godfather Of Soul“ bekannte Musiker war es auch, der aus dem reinem Rhythm & Blues den Funk entwickelte und durch seine spektakulären Tanzeinlagen seinem Publikum bis ins hohe Alter einheizte. Wir veröffentlichen gleich zwei Konzerte von ihm auf einer DVD: James Brown live in Concert im legendären „Studio 54“ in New York, wo einst die Disco-Ära begann – und in seiner Heimatstadt Atlanta im gigantischen Football-Stadion. Mit dabei natürlich ein Querschnitt seiner Hits von „Papa’s Got A Brand New Pig Bag“, „It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World“, „I Got You (I Feel Good)“ sowie natürlich „Sex Machine“.
